If The Shoe Fits….

1st October 2014

Here’s our Top 5 Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to your wedding shoes:

1 – Don’t forget to break your shoes in before the big day!

The last thing you want to be doing is complaining of sore feet on your big day. Wear them around the house when you can leading up to your wedding so they’ve been well and truly introduced to your tootsies.

2 – Do think about wearing a bright coloured shoe.

Whether your dress is long or short, wearing a brightly coloured shoe can make a real statement. It’s the perfect way to inject some colour into your outfit and makes for some great unique pics! Either use a colour that ties in with your theme or make your shoes your something blue.

3 – Don’t forget to take your shoes to your dress fitting.

Wearing different shoes to your fitting could play havoc with the final length of your dress, resulting in a dress that’s too long or too short – not good!

4 – Do what makes you feel good.

If you don’t wear 5 inch heels normally and don’t feel good in them, no one is forcing you to do so on your wedding day. If you would feel better in flats, go ahead and wear flats! There are plenty of designs out there to choose from. If you still want to wear high heels but you know your feet won’t last the whole day in them, why not buy a glitzy pair of pumps for the evening so you can dance the night away!

5 –Don’t go sinking!

If your nuptials are taking place on a beach, why not ditch the 5 inch Louboutins and opt for a flat sandal? You’ll want something you can kick off easily so you can dip your toes in the water. Likewise, if you’ve opted for a festival style wedding complete with muddy field, don’t be afraid of donning some funky wellies!
